FAWLEY HISTORIANS
Anchor and chain

orange bullet point Fawley Historians was formed in 1958 as Fawley Local History Group, and since then has held regular monthly meetings, (excluding August and December). A wide variety of subject matter has been presented to members and guests since that first meeting, covering items of historical interest of a local and often national perspective, and we try to include presentations on maritime, aviation, and railway subjects in our annual programme.

orange bullet point We have an extensive collection of local photographs, documents and artefacts covering the area and dating from the 19th century. Many items have been donated, and some are on loan, but all are carefully catalogued, and are available for reference use by students, researchers and private individuals.

orange bullet point We are often asked to assist in research for family details, and to provide displays or individual photographs for a wide range of presentations, and a number of our photographs have been used in books, and television broadcasts. We do not make a charge for our service, but would appreciate the consideration of reproduction costs and postage where applicable.

orange bullet point New members and visitors are always welcome. Fawley Historians meet on the FOURTH Friday of every month at Jubilee Hall, Fawley. Chairman: Colin van Geffen - contact Colin on 023 8089 7793.
